Imagine you're hosting an event. Perhaps it's an online Poodle training conference for 200 pooch enthusiasts. Or maybe you're hosting an indie film festival in a trendy warehouse that can seat up to thousands of guests.
Whatever your event, selling the tickets online is a vital—but pricey—part of the process. You're often charged excessive fees per ticket sold, and finding a platform that also offers seat reservation functionality can be tricky.
That's where Ticket Tailor comes in. The app lets event organizers and venues sell tickets online at a much cheaper cost. They can integrate the booking process into their websites, accept direct payments, and offer the exact number (and tiers) of seating.
Ticket Tailor origins: Finding opportunity in the music industry
In 2010, Jonny White founded Ticket Tailor out of the need to offer event organizers an easy—and cheap—way to sell their tickets online.
Having built up a client base in the music industry as a web developer, Jonny was asked multiple times by different customers to build a ticketing website. At the time, most event organizers had to use an agency to sell tickets, which charged the organizer high fees for every ticket bought.
Armed with his web development experience, White set out to create an events platform that could be customized for different use cases.
Did you know? In 2012, White sold Ticket Tailor to global magazine Time Out only to buy it back 18 months later as he knew it could scale even further.
Ticket Tailor today: Selling tickets without charging high fees
Today, Ticket Tailor is one of the world's biggest independent ticketing platforms and has helped 60,000 organizers sell over 23 million tickets worldwide. From pottery classes to music concerts, event organizers can easily list their venues, display the seating layouts, and host an easy checkout experience.
You can create and customize your own box office for your website (or create a standalone site). Plus, you can easily manage your guests with automatic updates and confirmation emails.
Fave feature: You'll only get charged after you've sold five tickets, and all free tickets issued are completely free of charge.
