Zapier is now available in the Google Ads interface
Automating workflows across Customer Match, Offline Conversions Imports, and Lead Form Extensions
Google is the largest ad platform in the world; with it, millions of small businesses create and share well-timed ads with people looking for their products or services across Google Search, Youtube, and more. The platform helps businesses increase their online sales, acquire high-quality leads, and raise brand awareness.
Today, we're excited to announce a brand new way to automate that work, as Zapier is now directly integrated within the Google Ads interface.
You'll be able to automate workflows across Customer Match, Offline Conversions Imports, and Lead Form Extensions. As these products become more popular, transferring and managing that data in and out of Google becomes critical. That's where Zapier comes in, helping you easily upload, transfer, and manage all the data you need straight to Google without having to rely on manual methods.
How it works
Today, whether you need to set up a lead campaign, create a customer list, or send an offline conversion in the Google Ads platform, you'll see that Zapier is an option to connect these products to thousands of apps.
You'll be taken to the “Linked Accounts'' section of Google Ads where you can view Zapier-powered apps by category or search for the app you're after.
Once you click on "Details" and log in to your Zapier account (through Google), you'll be taken to Zapier where you can set up your Zaps. Once you set up the Zap you want, you'll be able to see their live status—inside Google Ads.
Customer Match
Before, one way Customer Match users could upload their data into Google was to manually upload CSVs with customer data to create customer lists. Now, Zapier and Google Ads lets you automate this entire process, with these actions and searches:
- Create Customer List
- Add Contact to Customer List
- Add Contact to Customer List With Email
- Remove Contact From Customer List
- Find or Create Customer List
- Find Customer List
Example Zap: Imagine you run an eCommerce website that sells dog costumes. You want to re-engage users who buy a holiday costume with future ads around new holidays. This is the Zap you'd use:
Trigger: New orders in Shopify
Filter: The item is a holiday item
Action: Add contact to a Customer List called “Holiday Costumes”
Offline conversions tracking
Now, you can improve the quality of leads you get by sending that data back to Google—automatically, with this action:
- Send Offline Conversion
Example Zap: Imagine you have a call center where new leads go. You want to tell Google how those leads convert, but because most of them are qualified over the phone, you can't do this automatically. So instead you use Zapier to connect your CRM where agents can create contacts for qualified leads. This is the Zap you'd use:
Trigger: New Contact in HubSpot
Filter: The contact contains a Google Click ID (i.e. The lead was sourced from Google Ads)
Action: Send an Offline Conversion Event to Google Ads
Google’s Lead Form Extensions
Now, every time you get a new lead through Google's lead form extensions, you can trigger workflows that notify or send that data off to another app with this trigger:
- New Lead
Example Zap: Imagine you want to quickly notify your sales team in Slack when a new lead comes through. You also want to add that lead to HubSpot so you can track future interactions. This is the Zap you'd use:
Trigger: New Lead from Google’s Lead Form Extensions
Action: Send Channel Message in Slack
Action: Create a Contact in HubSpot
